Right behind the bridge over the Rio Algarrobo is the BaoBab restaurant (formerly named Chiki Beach). The kitchen conjures up great menus that simply taste good. There is also a relaxed atmosphere with a view of the sea and the beach.
The Chiringuito Paradise on the beach in Algarrobo-Costa is on the right in front of the footbridge over the river towards Mezquitilla.
Authentic Spanish beach cuisine is served here with views of the beach and the sea. You are eat relaxed and delicious and there is also a playground for the little ones.
La Barca - right in building 71
This German restaurant with a long tradition is located in the building. On the terrace you can eat German classics like e.g. "Curry Wurst" with a view of the beach and the sea and enjoy German beer.
Also in building 71, Valentino and his wife conjure up delicious menus at fair prices. You can also celebrate parties here.
The Victoria beer from Málaga is also delicious. Our recommendation is the avocado-tomato salad and the meat dishes.
Also an institution in Algarrobo-Costa, especially if you like grilled meat, fresh fish or lamb from the oven. Special feature: the Fiesta del Jamon - the ham festival ...

The Chiringuito Rompeolas is one of the oldest (est. 1968) and best beach restaurants in Algarrobo-Costa. It's right on the beach at the promenade.
Authentic Andalusian cuisine is served here with a view of the beach and the sea. Every now and then there is live music and sports TV events.
Tizos operates restaurants not only in Algarrobo-Costa and Caleta de Vélez, but also in the El Ingenio shopping center.
At Tizos there is an extensive menu including meat dishes, burgers, freshly made pizzas and kebabs and various other dishes - all of which are also available to take away.
With a long tradition in Mezquitilla local specialties, outdoor dining and regular live singing and flamenco is offered.
Artists like Manuel El Yunke or El Sevillanito and beautiful Flamenco ladies perform here. There are also various concerts and regional artists. Truly an authentic experience we absolutely recommend!
The El Yate in Torre del Mar is a real fish restaurant (Marisqueria). It is very popular with both locals and visitors.
Especially during the season it is very busy but worth a visit.

The worldwide restaurant chain with the guitars and outfits of international artists on the walls can also be found at the port in Málaga. The large terrace opposite the Centre Pompidu in Malaga is very nice.

Groceries and more shopping
in Algarrobo-Costa und Málaga
For everyday items there are various supermarkets and smaller shops such as butchers and bakers in Algarrobo-Costa and in the neighboring town of Caleta de Vélez. Most of them are on the main road N340 = Avenida Andalucia or on the left and right parallel streets. The old grocery stores called "Ultramarinos" are less common now adays. Some of them still have Serrano ham hanging from the ceiling....
Mercadona
Mercadona is a well-known Spanish supermarket chain. The next branch is on the N340 (Avenida Andalucia) about 300 meters in the direction of Caleta de Vélez and a little above the street.
There is a wide range of high-quality, Spanish food, fruit, vegetables, drinks, wines, a fresh fish and a butcher counter, as well as a ham counter, ice cream, cakes and pies, etc.
A parking deck, which is connected to the supermarket via an elevator and escalators, is on the left above the supermarket. Calle Casa Ballate.
Dia
Dia is also a Spanish supermarket chain. The closest to the apartment is at the roundabout on the other side of the N340 (Avenida Andalucia). You can be it from the balcony of the appartment.
Here you will find mainly food, fruit and drinks and a small selection of baked goods at very reasonable prices. For quick, small purchases or if you can't or don't want to walk for long, this is the solution.
Supermercado Carlos Rico
Carlos Rico is more of a small supermarket, also called "Ultramarinos", but it is authentically Spanish. This is where the neighborhood buys.
In the direction of Torre del Mar at the beginning of Caleta de Vélez on the left side on the parallel path to the N340 or Avenida Andalucía.
Two German food retailers have reached the Costa del Sol. With Aldi and Lidl, there are two prominent representatives in the vicinity.
Lidl is located at the transition from Algarrobo-Costa in the direction of Caleta de Vélez. It is right next to the "Mayor's Office" on the A7206 driveway, which leaves the roundabout with the fishing boat.
Aldi is located opposite the port, on the outskirts of Caleta de Vélez on the N340 or Avenida Andalucía, where the golf course is located.
El Ingenio shopping center with Eroski
In the El Ingenio shopping center, which is located between Torre del Mar and Vélez Málaga on the motorway. You will find around 50 shops and a food court including KFC and BurgerKing as well as a large supermarket called "Eroski".
In addition to many international (including English) food brands, there are also regional products and specialties and a non-food department and much more.
The Plaza Mayor is a large open-air shopping center with approx. 80 shops. It includes a multiplex cinema and approx. 30 restaurants and bars. Located in Málaga it is very close to the airport on the N340. Free parking spaces are available.
